According to this film, how has the CHANGE/PROGRESS happened? Who has worked to make schools more equitable and how? | In 1957 a group og black students in Little Rock Arkansas took a courageous stand for educational equality. |
Where do you see Johnson and privilege begin given to some but not others? | I see privilege everywhere but one specific part of the film that caught my attention especially with the segregation in these states, the privilege for education is creating our kids to not in integrated and growing up with the thought of having to go to school with people their own race only, in the film when “ Sibyl Hampton” says “ of my experience I never described itr as an intervention it was never intended that we would be treated as equals” also when she mentions that being one of the first African American student to attend an actual high school experience at Central high claims that no one spoke to her during those three years she was shunned well the african american kids were SHUNNED. |
Where do you see SCWAAMP and the things that are most valued? | Students tools leadership on how they want there school to look like, without student taking leadership they wouldn't have a change at all despite their flaws and differences they get together and with the same things we value and work on building a community as tennagers they can make their voices be heard and influence how adult shape OUR future. |
Where do you see Delpit’s rules and codes of power? | In America it is not just integrating across skin color and social class in about integrating different languages and cultures and experiences. Power was everywhere within this film “ everything comes down to the money” , the best way for the schools to support what they needed financially was unfortunately by having white people in schools. |
